Show NURSERY SCHOOL CHANGES QUARTERS The Preston Nursery scnool which for the last year or two uas been held in the rooms over tbe Prescription Drug company store was recently moved to new qua. I ters in the Science building on the Preston high school 'Campus. i The hftinery Sciic. L, spoii;or- I ed jointly by WPA and several lo-cal lo-cal agencies. The salaries of tie 1 teachers and the janitor are pail by WPA funds. The city of Pres ton furnishes fifteen dollars per month for the purchase of food ' used in the nursery school. Surplus commodities furnished througt I f WPT are also used. Franklin V county has for some time made i I contribution of fov(- dollars per " month to provide quarters for tie ' school. Independent School District I No. 1 has furnished the coal and the paint and kalsomine used b; the school. Other groups such is I the LDS Relief Societies ana th V Business and Professional Women's club have made 'contributions l various .kinds. ' ; ' I The Nursery School has two pur- !q poses. First, children from tJi to five years of, age from low in- come families are eligible for en- y rollment. These children are uin. p ally benefited physically and sfr V cially by their attendance. Tie second purpose of the school is one of parent education. An effor; is made through meetings and re j its with parents to sja that bette: feeding, cleaniness practices, etc.. are carried over to the home. i At the present 'time Miss Thelms Sant is the head teacher at tt; school with Mrs. Zelda Drainej a assistant teaicher, and Hermit.
