Show Politics Take Front Seat As Election Day Nears BOTH PARTIES SLATE RALLIES C. A. Bottolfsen, Chase Clark To Appear Here On October 30 Political fervor reached a new high this week as campaigners started down the home stretch with only one and a half weeks to go. Both presidential candidates are now turning on the heat in radio broadcasts and state and local can didates are increasing the tempo of their campaign talks. One of the features of the campaign cam-paign for Franklin county will be Wednesday, October 30, when Governor C. A. Bottolfsen, candidate candi-date for reelection on the Republican Republi-can ticket, comes here for a Republican Re-publican rally at the Preston high school auditorium, and Chase Clark, Democratic candidate for the same office comes here for a Democratic rally at the reception room of the Franklin county courthouse. court-house. It is unfortunate that both Mr. Clark and- Mr. Bottolfsen are scheduled to make appearances the same night but with that setup both parties are confident of large turnouts. Accompanying Clark to Franklin Frank-lin county will be Calvin Wright and C. E. Roberts. The former is candidate for re-election as state auditor while the latter is seeking the post of state superintendent of schools which is being vaicated by John Condie. Bottolfsen will appear in Preston alone. The Republicans also announce that Senator John Thomas will be in Preston for a few hours about noon Saturday. While here he will confer with, several local farmers and party leaders. Richard (Dick) Wells of Pocatello Poca-tello will talk in Preston again Saturday, November . 2, under the auspices of the Republican central committee. The Democrats are holding a rally in Mink Creek this evening, (Thursday). |
