New Lines Feature 1942 Dodge Auto Lowest priced car featuring "Fluid Drive," the 1941 Dodge, ravishing new beauty of the automotive auto-motive world, is now on displa. for the first time at the showrooms show-rooms of Wills Motor Company, Dodge-Plymouth dealers here, it has been announced by Clifton Wills, manager of the company. Everything about this la:est Lux ury Line series is new and differ ent. Body contours and dimensions, dimen-sions, interiors, instrument panel upholstering and other details have been changed. Even ihe figure o. the Rocky Mountain sheep which has served as the radiator ornament orna-ment and identification mark for Dodge for many years has been replaced by a different ornament gracefully streamlined in harmony with the sweeping lines of the car. Although for 1941 Dodge is introducing in-troducing an impressive list of major advancements enough of them, in fact, to make the new models stand' out as wholly new creations it is expected that public pub-lic attention will largely focus on the new hydraulic coupling or Fluid' Drive. The bodies, entirely redesigned, are beautifully streamlined wider, longer, mounted still lower, yet with no decrease of head space. Front seats now are 55 inches wide. The single-pane rear windows win-dows of sedan, brougham and 7-passenger 7-passenger models afford 47 per cent greater visibility. Luggage compartment lids have smooth, rounded-off corners for safety and are spring-balanced, so that they are easy to manipulate and will not fall shut. Brakes have been improved im-proved still further to assure long, er lining life. The road wheels are of a new safety type, with a hump in the wheel rim to prevent the throwing of the tire in case of a blowout. Tho starting, ignition and lighting battery is located under un-der the hood where it is readily accessible. The lighting system is of the sealed-beam type, with head lamps flush-mounted in the front fenders as integral parts of the grille; parking lights are mounted at the side of the main head lamp housings. hous-ings. Fender-mounted, flashing front and rear directional indicators indi-cators are available as special equipment. Because of the many advantageous advan-tageous changes it produces In the operation of the 1941 Dodge models. mod-els. Fluid Drive which together with the famous floating-power engine en-gine mountings endows the car with wholly new qualities of motion mo-tion and controlwill claim a major ma-jor share of the motorist's interest, Mr. Wills said. The Fluid Drive employed by Dodge has been in development for some eight years and engineering engineer-ing circles regard it as the most vital improvement in motor car operation since the introdtpcton of I hydraulic four-wheel brakes. Though it is a device of the utmost ut-most mechanical simplicity. Fluid Drive achieves a surprising number of improvements in driving results. The flexibility of the new coupling is such that it reduces gear changing chang-ing to the point where the driver may drive without shifting gears in ninety per cent of his average travel. j I VOTE FOR ' ' , " -": 7 ' FRANKSHRIVES ' Vj 1 COUNTY i I COMMISSIONER District 3 1 ' ' I ; on the .' . !y Democratic Ticket j.,,,,. ..L, i Frank Shrives has previously served in the ca-u ca-u pacity of County Commissioner. i He served the people of Franklin County faith- I fully and well, and friends have again urged him to I seek office.
