Show LARGEST SIGN TAKEN DOWN AFTER 30 YEARS ATter 30 years of service as an outstanding advertising medium and directory, one of Preston's oldest old-est and largest signs, that of the Mrs. Struve Millinery shop, was taken down Wednesday afternoon. The large sign was constructed and placed on the Struve building 30 years ago at a cost of $GO. Mrs. Struve moved her place of business upstairs a short time ago and Hanna's Sweet Shop and Tanner's Tan-ner's Men's Wear have since moved mov-ed into the downstair building occupied oc-cupied by her The sign was taken down to allow smaller signs of these two new establishments to be plaped. In an effort to modernize the building and improve the appearance appear-ance the beautiful vines that have grown up the sides and over the building for the past 17 years have been removed and the front of the building is being painted. Mrs. Struve came frorm Schles-wig Schles-wig Holstein, Germany, 37 years ago. She opened up her miliinery business 30 years ago and had oc-f cupied the same building since her beginning. |
