It came at the expense of Franklin Frank-lin and while they held Franklin scoreless they garnered 11 runs. Meanwhile the Preston Cubs ran into the two stiffest pitching performances per-formances of the tournament. On the opening day they bowed to Franklin by the score of 4-2.
