Show S 1 .. . ! i- LOCAL ITEMS I OF INTEREST j Mr. and Mrs. Ira Overfelt motored! to Salt Lake Monday evening and returned re-turned Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Over-felt, Over-felt, cashier for the Gunnison Valley bank, was attending to some important impor-tant bank business. A. W. Jensen, Ephraim attorney, was a business visitor to Gunnison Tuesday. M. W. Anderson, grain buyer for the Utah Poultry Producers' Cooper-alive Cooper-alive association, was looking after business in Sevier county Tuesday. Mr. Anderson is making many purchases pur-chases in the wheat line for his company, com-pany, r.nd a big stock of feed is being be-ing piepared for the winter's poultry consumption. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Chew, former residents of Gunnison, but who have been residing at Jensen for several years past, spent several days here last week as guests at the home of Mrs. J. L. Kearns, a sister to Mr. Chew. Dr. E. T. Rees, Salt Lake, a brother to Dr. G. Stanford Rees of this city, spent several days here this week as a guest at the home of his brother. Mr. and Mrs. Marius Jensen and the Misses Hazel and Marjorie Jensen, Jen-sen, spent Sunday at Salina and were dinner guests at the home of Dr. and Mrs. F. O. Bullock. Miss Loraine Christensen, a nurse student at the Holy Cross hospital at Salt Lake, and who spent a two weeks vacation here, returned to her duties last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. George Swain of this city; and Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Gates of Salina, returned Monday evening from a trip through the Uintah basin. Mr. Swain was investigating a newspaper news-paper proposition at Duchesne, but found conditions unsatisfactory. Returning, Re-turning, the party visited at Salt Lake. Mrs. John Allmendinger celebrated her biithday anniversary Friday of last week by entertaining a number of friends at a social afternoon. Pro-irrcsrive Pro-irrcsrive "50C" was played and favors were won by Mrs. L. G. Anderson and Mrs. Robert Darlington. A dainty luncheon was served at small tables to twelve guests, following the game. Miss Marie Gledhill returned Sunday Sun-day evening after spending a brief vacation with friends at Salt Lake. Dr. and Mrs. J. Stanford Rees motored mo-tored to Salt Lake Saturday for a week-end visit with relatives. They returned Sunday evening. Roy and Arley Edwards were business busi-ness visitors at Salina Tuesday afternoon af-ternoon of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Olsen returned return-ed Tuesday after an extended visit with friends and relatives at Salt Lake. Mrs. Geo. Petty left last week for Salt Lake, and is visiting for a few I days with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Petty J and Miss Mona Petty. |
