Show LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST j Miss Marie Gledhll delightfully entertained for twelve members of the Junior bridge club at her home Wednesday evening of last week, A dainty luncheon was served at eight o'clock, following which a ively game of bridge proved an enjoyable feature. In the contest for the favors Mrs. Vearl Peterson won first prize, while the consolation went to Mrs. Geo. Last. - A. M. Fredrickson of Murray, and O. If. Fredrickson and Lester Fredrickson Fred-rickson of Salt Lake, spent Sunday and Monday in Gunnison visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Fredrickson. The sons were called here on account of the illness of their mother. The latter, however, is reported greatly improved, and the boys returned to their respective homes Monday evening. Mrs. Floyd Ch'lds, Mrs. M. M. Duggins and Mrs. Editha Rosenlund made a round trip to Salt Lake Saturday. Sat-urday. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Last, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stubbs, Miss Izola Sorenson Soren-son and Blain Bartholomew motored to Payson Sunday. They attended a group convention of store managers for the Christensen stores. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rasmussen, parents of Mrs. 0. M. Garlick, and Misses Irene and Helen Rasmussen, came down from Salt Lake Saturday evening and were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garl'ck until Sunday Sun-day evening. The party also made a trip to Marysvale Sunday morning, returning to Salt Lake in the evening. Chris Thompson, who reached his Tfith birthday anniversary the early part of last week, was royally enter-ta'ned enter-ta'ned when Mrs. Thompson was hostess hos-tess at a specially arranged dinner party for the honored guest. Covers were laid for eight. Mr. and Mrs. John Nielson and daughter, and Roy Curtis, of La-tonia La-tonia Beach, are visiting at the John W. N elson home at Centerfield. Dr. and Mrs. Geo. Q. Christensen were here from their home at Mt. Pleasant Monday and were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Roper. Mrs. Howard Norman was a charming charm-ing hostess to members of the Gunnison Gun-nison bridge club at her home on North State street Friday afternoon from one-thirty to five o'clock. Preceding Pre-ceding a lively game of bridge, Mrs. Norman served a dainty luncheon at small tables. Mrs. Eldred Buchanan delightfully entertained for members of the Kliko bridge club at her home Wednesday evening Following a ively game of progressive bridge, Mrs. Buchanan served dainty refreshments to twelve. Miss Beth Tollestrup charmingly entertained for a group of young people at her home Friday night at a social time. Members of the party first attended the girls' day dance at the high school auditorium, then went to the Tollestrup home. Word was received here this week by Mr. and Mrs. Bert S. Eggertsen from their son, Frank Eggertsen, a student at the University of Utah, that he had been appointed to a fellowship fel-lowship at Purdue university, in In-d'ana. In-d'ana. Mr. Eggertsen received his B. A. degree at the "U" last year and is row studying for a Masher's degree. |
