Show HOME ELECTRIC COSTS. Flectric service costs the average household, tbs country over, less than a dime a day, according to figures fig-ures discussed recently by J. R. Bonner, Bonn-er, secretary of the American Washing Wash-ing Mach'ne Manufacturers associa-t;on. associa-t;on. The aTerage monthly bill per domestic customer was $2.79 in 1934, compared to $2.76 in 1933. Average annual consumption per customer increased in-creased 4.5 per cent over 1933, but the average householder's rate for current decreased 3 5 per cent. "This $2.79 nation-w'de average is not the 'electric light bill,' " says Secretary Sec-retary Bohnen. "Actually it should be known as the electric service bill, because be-cause it ncludes the cost of the ironing iron-ing machine, the fumily washer used in 9 500 000 homes, and the other housekeeping conveniences made possible pos-sible by electricity." The total of homes receiving electric elec-tric service for operating such labor-saving labor-saving annliances is 20.693,751, in-cludinr in-cludinr 743954 farm residences. |
