Show Gunnison Loses in ! First League Game The second teams of Monroe and G.mnison staged a fast game as the opener of the big bout. Monroe Mon-roe juniors won the game, the score being 21 to 11. Basket ball fans of Gunnison are looking forward to Friday night's entertainment en-tertainment when a big double-header program will be staged. The Richfield first team and the Gunnison Gunni-son "Midgets" are to clash in a league contest and this will be the feature bout. Richfield won her first clash and is boasting prowess. The locals, however, will be prepared and if predictions come true Richfield Rich-field will be taken from its percentage percent-age standing. The second teams of Richfield and Gunnison are scheduled for a mix-up and as a result fans will be accorded accord-ed some real sport. The first game will start promptly at 7 o'clock p. m. and the big 'fuss' ..between the lea-pruers lea-pruers is scheduled for 8 o'clock. Following Fol-lowing the game a dancing party is to j be given and music will be furnished i by the "Footwarmers." It is intimated that the students of the high school are to give vent to a likely victory and incidentally enthuse Gunnison citizens in the coming com-ing games, by a real school demonstration demon-stration on Main street Friday afternoon. Staging a come-back in the second hlf of a. thrilling basket ball game, the opening game of the Sevier division divi-sion in which the Gunnison "Midgets" "Mid-gets" had its first clash, the local lads won plaudits and praise galore, i but unfortunately their opponents, ' Monroe, nosed out with the laurels, winning by a score of 32-24. The last half proved a whirlwind and had the "Midgets" got the measurements of the Monroe boys in the first hal" the tale would have been altogether different. At the end of the first half Monroe led, the score being 18-2. Starting the second half the "Midgets" "Mid-gets" pulled themselves together and ' cut the lead materially, and incident- ; ally played super ball. Inasmuch as the Monroe cagers are heavier, had more experience and training, the Gunnison boys feel , mighty proud ' of the record estab- j lished and real "confidence" has been instilled in everv member of the team.
