Show Announcement is made of the arrival ar-rival of a baby boy at the home ol Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Mellor of Fayette. Fay-ette. The baby was born June 6 and all arc doing fine at the Melloi home. L. J. Arnold, office manager, anc1 R. K. Gaddie, chief chemist for the I Gunnison Sugar company, and Ear Arnold, went to Salt Lake Tuesday They spent the Fourth at the capitol city. Mrs. Frank Reed of Salina, spenf several days here this week visiting at the J. S. Peterson home. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Willardson have returned from Salt Lake where the? spent a week visiting with friend; and relatives. Mrs. R. B. Burgess of Salina, wa: the week-end guest at the home ol Mr. and Mrs. Bayard Tuft at the latter' s home in Centerfield. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Keams and Mis: Marie Keams, are here from Spring-dale Spring-dale and are visiting with friends Mr. Kearns is employed on the nev scenic highway that will connect Zions park with Mt. Carmel. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Edwards and children spent the week-end at Fish lake. Naturally the fishing wa: good and some big ones were landed Mrs. Edwards being credited with carrying off the honors for the largest larg-est trout captured. Elaine and Donald Hughes, Salt Lake City, came down to spent the Fourth with Mrs. Ida B. Hughes and Chas. C. Nielson. The vacationists will be here two weeks or more visiting at the Mrs. Hughes home in Centerfield. j r LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mrs. A. C. Lund and the Misses Phyllis and Irene Lund and Mrs. J. E. Stevenson and children of Salt Lake, are spending the week here and are the house guests at the home of Miss Vio Sorcnson. Mrs. S. F. Tipton, house guest at the Ira Overfelt home for two weeks, left for Goshen Sunday where she will be the guest of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Ted Okelberry, for some time before returning to her home at Hannibal, Mo. L. Ludvigson, who has mining in-" in-" terests at Marysvale, returned Tuesday Tues-day evening after spending several days there. Mr. Ludvigson was making mak-ing an inspection of his interests'and announced that plans were being made to do considerable development work during the summer. Mrs. J. IT. Chew of Jensen, arrived ' in Gunnison Monday afternoon and is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. Ludvigson. Mrs. Chew was accompanied by Jack Noons, of San Francisco, and had been visiting at Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Johnson and Rosio Johnson left Monday for Provo. They spent the Fourth as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Perkins. Per-kins. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Larsen, Austin Aus-tin and Dwain and Norma, were motor travelers to Salt Lake Monday. They expect to spend the week there visiting with Mr. and Mrs. ' George Larsen. Miss Rachel Childs went to Provo Tuesday morning. She enjoyed Independence In-dependence day celebrating with friends. Mrs. George Bauer and children, who have been at Payson during the past winter, have joined Mr. Bauer in Gunnison and they will remain here permanently. Mrs. Hyrum Christiansen has returned re-turned from a brief trip to Salt Lake where she visited with her daughter, Miss Aleda Christiansen. The many-friends many-friends of Miss Christiansen will be glad to know she is fast regaining her health and that she expects to return home in two or three weeks. |
