Show CONFEDERATE SPY TO SLEEP IN NATIVE SOIL One of the most valuable of the Confederate spies during the Civil war, and one of the most famous spies in American history was a woman. Born in Virginia, she served her beloved be-loved state well, but it was the irony of fate that when she died she should be buried in what was to her an alien land in the state of Wisconsin, but now there is a plan under way to "carry her back to old Viriginny," and after more than a quarter of a century, cen-tury, Belle Boyd is to sleep at last in her native soil. If you would know something of the romantic history of this woman, be sure to read the illustrated feature feat-ure article "Belle Boyd Goes Home," by Elmo Scott Watson in this issue of the News. |
