Show Annie Madsen Dies; funeral In Gunnison Mrs. Annie Madsen, at one time a prominent resident of Gunnison, died at a hospital at Grand Juncton Monday Mon-day afternoon at four o'clock. Death resulted from injurise which Mrs. Madsen received at her home at Green River some four weeks ago, when she fell down a flight of stairs. In the fall, Mrs. Madsen sustained a broken arm and shoulder, in addition to suffering suf-fering severe body injuries. When the accident befell the unfortunate woman she was hurried to a hospital at Grand Junction. Every medical aid was provided, pro-vided, but without no avail and death relieved all suffering. The body was brought to Gunnison yesterday and services will be held this, Thursday afternoon from the Relief society hall. Bishop Leslie Kidman will be in charge. Interment will be held at the Gunnison City cemetery. Mrs. Madsen will be remembered by many of the citizens of Gunnison, as she resided here for many years. She was known for her sterling qualities and was a kind and loving mother and neighbor. She loved her home and her children and the many charitable acts performed won for her the admiration ad-miration and respect of hosts of friends. Mrs. Madsen was born in Sweden in 1859, and when sixteen years of age she came to America with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Erick Karson. In 1889 she was married to Victor Madsen. Mr. Madsen died in 1897 and later Mrs Madsen removed to Salt Lake. In 1910 she went to Green River, where she resided until her death. While at Green River, Mrs. Madsen conducted one of the leading hotels and was prominent in business, social and church circles. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Dora Sloplonskey, a daughter by a former husband, and two sons, Le-land Le-land and Gamey Madsen, of Green River. A grandson, Gamey Edward Mad-sen, also of Green River, a brother, bro-ther, John E. Larson and two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Jeppson and Miss Til-lie Til-lie Larson of this city, are also left as survivors. |
