Show School Budgets Indicate Slashes According to the July issue of the Utah Taxpayer, every school district in the state will register substantial reductions in its budgets for the next school year. There is one possible exception, ex-ception, Salt Lake City, which has not yet acted definitely upon its budget. bud-get. The reductions range all the way from 2.9 per cent to 32.5 per cent, which, in the aggregate, will mean savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars to the taxpayers of this state without impairing the efficiency of operation or doing away with any essential es-sential school activities. The Utah Taxpayer attributes this result to the increased activities of the boards of education in the financial finan-cial affairs of the school district and their willingness to assume complete responsibility for the conduct of school affairs. Attention is called to the fact that there are still five months remaining in which to make these economies and adjustments.
