In the final contest with the Elsinore Elsin-ore squad of ball players for this year, the Gunners of this city downed the visitors in a glorious victory last Sunday afternoon on the local diamond dia-mond by a two to one score, the finals being Gunnison 10 and Elsinore :5. Wilford Bauers, ace pitcher for Gunnison, Gun-nison, had his antagonists outwitted all through the game, and the heavy "stickmen" from Elsinore were unable un-able to fathom the deep and deceptive curves. The nine hits received, by Elsinore El-sinore were scattered, and at no time was the local boys the least bit frightened as the runs were not piled up in rapid form. Bauers also batted fine, getting 3 hits out of four times at bat. Ervin Staples, who has been in good form on the mound for Elsinore, could not puzzle the local lads, and during the game the Gunners touched the twirler from the south for 13 hits. Walt Villard snagged two, one of which was a three-bagger, and Newell Childs, Halverson and Tollestrup secured se-cured two-base, hits. Gunnison, now tied with Nephi for third place in league standing, each having won one and lost three in the last half, will entertain Nephi at the Gunnison park next Sunday afternoon.
