Show highway Boasters At Nephi Meeting An important meeting of the members mem-bers of the Scenic Highways Association Assoc-iation of Utah was held at the Forrest For-rest Hotel in this city Wednesday afternoon, says the Nephi Times-News. Times-News. Members were present from many of the important towns of Central Cen-tral and Southern Utah and much information was given out relative to the road problems of this section. President E. S. Hinckley called the meeting to order and reviewed the trouble that had to be overcome through the use of the name Utah Auto Club but which had now been settled. He said that two associations associat-ions were operating under two names but there was perfect co-operation between them and in time they may: be merged into one organzation but not at present. He said that Scenic Highways Association was not incor-! porated but was operated under a ; board consisting of five members. t He said the association had no fight j with any other road organization but ! was working to bring before the ! people of the country the wonderful ! scenic attractions of Utah. In this! connection he paid a high tribute to the secretary F. D. B. Gay who he said had done wonderful work in the development of the roads of Utah, and the Scenic Highways magazine now being published by Mr. Gay was the best of its kind in the United States. The officers elected are as follows: E. S. Hinckley, president; E. S. Woodruff, Wood-ruff, vice-president; F. D. B. Gay, executive ex-ecutive and field secretary; Dr. Arch Lewis of Salina, Utah; and E. M. Tyson, of Brigham City, directors. An advisory board consisting of one member from each county will bo selected by the officers and directors direct-ors in the near future. |
