Hagan delightfully entertained en-tertained for her daughter, Miss ! Helen, Sunday afternoon, at a well appointed dinner party, in honor of Miss Helen's birthday anniversary. The dinner table was tastefully decorated dec-orated with beautiful fall flowers and inflated balloons served as place cards. Mah jongg was the diversion and honors were won by Misses Beulah Metcalf and Marjorie Soren-son. Soren-son. Miss Julia Hagan assisted her mother. County Attorney L. R. Christensen I of Mt. Hardy, representing the j Home Insurance & Savings company, with headquarters at Salt Lake, was j here yesterday looking after the interests in-terests of his company. Mr. and Mrs. Bayard Tuft, who spent a few days at McGill, Nevada, visiting with friends and looking after business matters, returned home last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Overfelt, were among those from this city attending the Eastern Star picnick held at Maple Grove last Sunday. ! Salt Lake Friday of last week. Mrs. Ray Jessen, of McGill, Nevada, Nev-ada, and Mrs. Ted Okerberry of Goshen, were the house guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Overfelt last Thursday and Friday. Mrs. Dean Brown, and Bobbie and Billie Brown, who have been the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Kearns for the past two months left for their home in Los Angeles last Sunday. They were accompanied as far as Delta by Mr. and Mrs. Kearns. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Rasmussen and son, Moyle, went to Ephraim yesterday yester-day for a few days visit with relatives rela-tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Edwards, Earl, Gertrude and Norma Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Cherry and Wesley Cherry, went to Fishlake last Friday for a few days outing. John Almendinger and Henry Christepisen wjre Fishlake visitors Saturday and Sunday. The boys had hard luck the denizens of the deep did not favor the bait offered. ! Mrs. Sanford Anderson and James Nielson were motor travelers to Salt Lake Wednesday morning. They will be absent several days on a combined business and pleasure trip. j j Miss L. S. McMonigal and Miss ' Josie Curtis, spent several days at Monroe this week visiting with the Misses Lowrey. Mrs. Kenneth Sheffield, and son Russell, are the guests at the home of Mrs. Sheffield's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Beck at Centerfield. The visitors will be here for another week before returning to their home at Kaysville. M. S. Parker, director of the Utah Public Health association, accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Parker, were here from LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST -! Miss Ida Johnson, who has been absent during the past "several months attending the University summer school returned to her home in Gunnison Gun-nison last Sunday. Miss Johnson will assume her duties as teacher in the Washington school at the opening next Monday, i r Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Beck and family fam-ily were among those attending the circus at Richfield last Friday. Mrs. Rose Robins of Good Springs, Nevada, and Mrs. Elizabeth Peterson Peter-son of Los Angeles, came in from the west last Sunday for an extended visit to their mother, Mrs. Annie Christensen. Miss Juanita Hansen, who spent several months here visiting with her cousin, Irene Almendinger, left for her home at Denver, Wednesday of last week. She was accompanied by Miss Almendinger as far as Proyo, and the latter visited a week with relatives at the Garden City before returning home. ; ' Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Whittenburg, who have been residing temporarily at Richfield since their marriage last month, have removed to Gunnison. They are occupying the John Knighton Knigh-ton residence on East First South street. Mrs. Orrin Palmer and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Poulsen left for Fillmore the. first of the week. Before returning return-ing they will visit friends and - relatives rela-tives at Kanosh. Chas. Rasmussen, Moyle Rasmussen and Henry Kearns, motored to Richfield Rich-field Friday of last week and saw the Al. Barnes circus. They report the show a good one and a record breaking break-ing crowd of patrons present. Mrs. Blain Larson of McGill, Nevada, Nev-ada, is here for a two weeks visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Bown. |
