Show SPRING IMPROVEMENTS The almanac says spring is here. On one of these nice sunshiny sun-shiny days, why not get out and give your home grounds the once over, ar. J a.vk yourself if .they are a credit to your own home town? Disorder is as contagious as measles, and the results are often much worse. If you have allowed your back yard to become a dump heap, your neighbors will probably catch the same idea, and you will all give an impression of indolence and indifference, perhaps per-haps of failure. Neatness and beauty are also catching. If you are seen cart- ing off refuse or removing defects, an impression is made on the neighborhood consciousness. The wives anxiously ask their 'guilty looking men when they are going to get busy. Pretty soon they too are seen removing their coats, and operating wheelbarrows and rakes and hammers. If you all keep it up with lawn and garden work as the warm weather comes on, one can forsee that your i neighborhood will be on the upgrade, and there will be inquiries about the price of real estate there. Don't think you are exempt if you happen to rent a home or apartment instead of owning it. Perhaps the reason why the landlord land-lord turned you down when you asked for that new wallpaper, was that you have not kept his property looking attractive. . . , |
