Show School Students Battle for Honors: The fifth and eighth grades of the ! Washington school carried off the ; honors at a track meet last Friday, j when they won out over the sixth I and seventh girades of the same school. The contest proved keen and i the students entered into the spirit like "old-timers." The final score showed the winners with 54 points, as against 47 for the losers. The events in which the boys participated, par-ticipated, showing the winners, is given as follows: 75-yard race, Dean Dennison; 50-yard race, Duane j Tollestirup; 50-yard relay race, sixth and seventh grades; broad jump,! Duane Tollestrup; high jump, Duane ; Tqllestrup; pole vault, Duane Tolle- : strtip; shot put, Marvin Christensen. j The events in which -the girls took part as winners were 50-yard race, Mary Kearns; 25-yard nace, Gladys Green; 25-yard relay race, fifth and sixth 'grades; high jump and broad, jump, Dora Coates.- . j The respective grades had the usual us-ual quota of "side-line boosters" and the meet was marked with more than the ordinary enthusiasm. j |
