Show WUIard'B Iron Resources. The immense iron deposits in the neighborhood of Willard City, Box Elder county, have long been known to the miner and prospector. pros-pector. Claims were located and considerable work done by the residents resi-dents of Willard City and Brigham City many years ago and a few small shipments were made, but the properties were soon abandoned. abandon-ed. The ore is almost pure iron, is easy of access, and within a very short distance of the Union Pacific railway. The quantity is almost inexhaustible. The owners of the properties were at one timeconfident that iron works would be established establish-ed at or near therein which case quict,peaceful and picturesque Willard Will-ard would have changed into a noisy and flourishing mining camp. A. M. Hunter, who has been investigating the iron deposits near Willard, says they arc the best in the entire Territory, the rich beds of the southern portion of the country not excepted. Considerable interest is once again awakening in regard to Willard and her ore, and it is possible pos-sible that some of the mines will soon be actively worked. S. L. Herald. |
