Show LOCAL AND PERSONAL NEWS S . !fi Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Madsen and Mr. and Mrs. AiUhony Madsen were travelers trav-elers to Salt Lake last Sunday morning. They returned to Gunnison last Monday. Mon-day. Mrs. J.' L. Kearns left yesterday morning for an extended trip to Tooele. She will spend the major portion of the eomng winter with hsr daughter, Mrs. ; J. H. Peck. ; Adolph Hansen, representing the : Western Loan & Building company of Salt Lake, spent several days here , this week. He was a guest at the Miss Johanna Peterson, who has been living at Salt Lake for several months past, came down to attend the wedding of her sister, Golda. Attorney C. M. Edwards and J. W. Edwards, were Delta visitors this week. They motored to the Millard county metropolis last Wednesday. George W. Watkins, president, and S. W. Decker, director, of the Fidelity Building and Loan Association, were here Wednesday conferring with local stockholders of the association. James Hill, faithful mail carrier between be-tween Gunnison and Fayette, is taking tak-ing a week's rest and Tcesday he left for Salt Lake where he will attend the State fair and the annual conference of the L. D. S. Church. Some fifteen members of the Gunnison Gunni-son w'ard Relief Society met at the home of Mrs. Sophia Erickson Tuesday afternoon. It was the regular weekly visit aid in addition to an interesting program a delightful afternoon was spent in a social time. Refreshments were served the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Anderson entertained enter-tained at a musical at their home Thursday evening. The rooms were beautifuly decorated with potted palms and pink and white asters. Th fifteen guests enjoyed a real good time. Those who took part in the musical Mrs. Johnston, Mrs. Gillespie and E. L. Swallierg. silos, accompanied by KIRay Christians'jn, ail B? rtron Eigler. Gunnison hotel. Miss Christy Madsen entertained ten of her girl friends at a "watermelon bust" at her home last Sunday even-; even-; ing. Several large juicy melons were served the guests and those present enjoyed the affair immensely. The Ladies Missionary Society and the Light Bearers band, of the Presbyterian Presby-terian church held an interesting meet- ! ing Tuesday afternoon at the chapel. Some thirty-five were present and listened to an interesting talk by Miss Curtis. Delicious refreshments were ! served st five o'clock. Erick Rosenvall, -a former Gunnison resident, was here from Salt Lake l last Saturday looking after his local ! business interests. Mr. Rosenvall announced an-nounced that he would shortly leave Salt Lake for California where he will take up his permanent residence. He will locate at Bell, California. |
