Show Valley Farmers Get Financial Aid Through the activities of the officers offi-cers of tho Gunnison Valley National Farm Loan association and owing to the fact that this valley offers better bet-ter securities for the negotiation of loans throughout the entire western country, farm loans to the farmers farm-ers who are members of the local association, as-sociation, aggregating nearly one-half one-half million dollars will be made here within the next month or so. Thus far thirty-five members out of the total of thirty-nine have made applications for a total aggregating $150,000, and during the past two months $37,000- has actually been placed. Last Wednesday applications applica-tions for loans amounting to $220,-000 $220,-000 were forwarded to head offices. The officers of the local organization organiza-tion now serving and putting forth every effort to place as much money as possible in the valley through this medium offered by the government, are as follows: Chris A. Peterson, president; Will H. Nielson, vice-president; vice-president; E. H. Bardsley, secretary-treasurer. secretary-treasurer. The directors are C. A. Peterson, W. H. Nielson, Charles S. Hansen, A. A. Beck and Alva E. Anderson. The organization was started in May, 1917, when President Peterson and Mr. Bardsley mapped out the original or-iginal plans and effected the organization. organi-zation. The world war conflict and the disorganization of business generally gen-erally throughout the United States . had much to do with the delay of the work here. When the local association associa-tion was formed thirty-seven applications appli-cations had been filed and these were held for two years before the required re-quired ten permanent members necessary nec-essary to create the capitalization of $200,000. |
