Show Valley Farmers To Visit Pea Factories Benj. Brown, president of the Gunnison Gun-nison Valley Canning company, which was organized some few months ago for the purpose of building a canning can-ning factory at Gunnison, has announced an-nounced that an excursion of those interested in the raising of peas in the valley and as many others who wish, will leave shortly for a tour of inspection of the pea growing districts dis-tricts and of the pea canning factories fac-tories now in operation. The trip will include a visit through the northern north-ern part of this county, Utah county, Cache and Morgan counties, and the methods of planting, cultivation, harvesting har-vesting and canning of the crop will be studied from every angle. "The future of the industry in the Gunnison Valley is highly encouraging," encourag-ing," said Mr. Brown to a News reporter re-porter yesterday. "Many of the farmers farm-ers who have become interested in he pea growing industry are well pleased with the experimental crops put in in this year. Several acres have been planted for the purpose of propagating seed, for next year's planting and the yield promises to be exceptionally large, and from the interest in-terest shown now, it is a certainty that a large acreage will be planted and the yield will be large and in time for opening the factory licre next year."
