Mrs, Hughes was born Feb. 16, 1837, at Lancashire, England ; came to Utah in 1875 from Council Bluffs, Iowa, and settled in Toquerville, Utah ; waB an earl y settler set-tler in Silver Reef, where she was well known as a successful nurse. After the death of her husband, John R. Hughes, about 1890, she w eut to her daughter, Mrs. Wm. T. Lynch at Salt Lake. About eight years ago she made her home here with her son, Cbas. H. Embley, wher9 she died. Her remains were shipped to Salt Lake City for burial, the funeral being be-ing held in the Seventh day Adveu-tists Adveu-tists church Besides her son, Chas. H.
