Show Eight part time workers were hired this month to operate the Panguitch and Hatch information booths for Garfield County. They included Dorothy Barney, Marcie Dutton, Betty Cooper, Isabelle Ip-son, Ip-son, Velma Huntington, Idella McEwen, Hope Dalton and Lula Davis. Information Centers Will Open For Summer Saturday Fullmer, Gerald Law and Rick Swanger after applicants were personally interviewed by the committee members. The workers were treated to lunch this week in a working meeting to Summer workers for the county's information centers have been hired and will begin welcoming tourists to the area as the booths open this Saturday to kickoff the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The centers are located at Hatch and at the Panguitch City Park and will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Hired were Isbael Ipson, Betty Cooper, Idella McEwen and Lula Davis of Panguitch and Velma Huntington, Hope Dalton, Dorothy Barney and Marcie Dutton of Hatch. Several have worked the information in-formation centers during previous summers. They were selected by Garfield Ad Council members Bob Benfield, Nancy Bales, Bruce learn the guidelines the county has set for personnel at the centers. They will work daily split shifts at minimum wage. Various brochures were discussed and reviewed and they were reminded to be cheerful and helpful. They were informed that any private business brochures could be placed in the information centers but that no employee was to recommend any specific private business. They were also reminded not to handle any reservation requests nor quote any rates. They were given a brief review of how to operate the slide projectors at the center and agreed to take part in a cross country trip planned for next week for them. Gerald Law, Hatch will escort ladies across county to review scenic attractions of the area, become familiar with roads and learn to generally become familiar with services available county wide. Information centers will also be opened this tourist season in Tropic and Escalante. |
