Show Unfair Accusations The Editor The letter to the Editor of the Garfield County News published August 21, 1980, responding to my letter of August 7th, states that I made "direct and (she believes) unfair accusations directed toward our County Commissioners." I thought that I was 1 being careful in my letter not to be unfair. At this stage though, I must ask: Since when is reporting facts from the public records, on the conduct of public business, being unfair; and pray tell, what were the direct accusations? I believe that the conduct of public business in Garfield County can stand considerable con-siderable more scrutiny under the "Sunshine Law." The exaggerated claims for what has been accomplished by the excessive travel of the Garfield County Commissioners, Com-missioners, as. stated in the August 21st letter to the Editor, brings to mind a quote from Kipling: "If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken twisted by knaves to make a trap for (those they consider) fools"...
