Show By Lynn Munson 679-8627 There were a large number of Young Men and Young Women from the Tropic LDS Ward participating partici-pating in the temple baptisms in St. George on Saturday. Released in Tropic LDS Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting were Brett Taylor, fast offering coordinator and Layne LeFevre, second counselor Young Mens organization and scouts. Sustained in new positions were Carol Pollock as cub scout assistant; assis-tant; Gerald Pollock, second counselor coun-selor Young Mens organization and scouts and Stan Mecham as fast offering of-fering coordinator. Thanks were extended ex-tended to all who participated in the ward service project of helping the Kesner family shingle their home. Speakers were the Stake missionaries missionar-ies Elder Lyman of England and Elder El-der Kelner of Austria. Both were excellent speakers. Many attended the missionary fireside program that was broadcast to the ward later that ; evening. Max and Phyllis Stewart celebrated cele-brated Presidents Day with all their children home. Sean and Kim Stewart and children of Escalante; Trevor and Jennifer Stewart and . children of Kanab; Chance and Jessica Jes-sica Stewart of Cedar City and Slate, who is in college in Cedar City, all enjoyed the special day. Later Max and Phyllis attended the temple wedding of nephew Richard Jennings and Heidi Burton in St. George. Karen Ott and daughter Melinda . Ott took grandma Mary Ott to spend the weekend with daughter, Kathy Davies and family in To-' To-' querville. They all visited with Mert and Marilyn Murdock and Kim and Kathy Ott and family in St. George. They attended a state gymnastics tournament to watch Kim's son, Steven participate. Staying with Malen and Marian Mecham over the weekend were Donald and Carma Shakespear and son, Garren from Bear River City. Don and Dixie Munson, St. George and daughter, Debra Hunt of Salt Lake City, enjoyed Sunday dinner with Si Munson, daughter Lynn Munson and son, Alan Munson. Mun-son. They hadn't seen Deb for almost al-most a year so it was a special visit. Berdell and Carma Barton welcomed wel-comed daughter, Connie Heap and her four lively girls of Circleville for a visit Monday. All the Tropic grandchildren joined in the fun at grandma's house too! Obie and June Shakespear received re-ceived news that their new great-grandson great-grandson had been born to Evan and Kristina Mickelson of Henderson, Nev. Kristina is the daughter of Mavis Strebel of Murray. The funeral for Lewis Haas was well attended by ward members and friends who extended their love and condolences to the Haas and Richards families. Visiting with Margaret Mecham and daughter Margie Mecham were daughter Vera Larson and Fonetta Barney of Richfield. They were among the many friends attending the Haas funeral. Tim and Kris Feltner and four children were here for a week to share the sorrow and comfort as the Haas families gathered together. Tim was a speaker in the services for his grandfather Haas. Some of LaMar and Cheri Felt-ner's Felt-ner's children and families were here for the long weekend including Tanya Taylor and children of Cedar (See TROPIC on page 3-A) ' TROPIC From Page 2-A City; Tyler and Kristin and boys and Trent and Leslie and children. Also visiting was Cheri's sister Sha.una and husband Joe Smith and their son, Joe, wife Stacy and baby Alex. The Smiths stayed with her parents, Ben and Luana Riddle. Children who came to the funeral were Jennifer Feltner, Trent Feltner and Tracy Feltner. The Family Home Evening Group met at Gloria Hayden and Anna Marie Johnson's home as they hosted for the evening. The nine members present enjoyed a lovely dinner and watched an entertaining enter-taining video. It was great to have Ella Adair with them again. She has certainly been missed from the group for many months. Lester and Vertis Clarke spent a week at the temple cottages and greatly enjoyed working in the temple sessions. Shelly Pollock, Provo was home to visit her parents, DeVar and Faye Pollock. Larvin and Eva Pollock had their grandson, Bill Pollock, Jr. and his missionary companion and college col-lege roommate, Jaron Hillberth, spend a night with them. Bill's parents, Bill and Stacy Pollock of Heber City, later spent a night, then went to Cedar City to hear the mission report of Elder Janes of Cedar City, who is Stacy's nephew. Other visitors were the Cowans who work in the state LDS seminary semi-nary program with Bill. Larvin and Elwood Campbell both had cataract surgery last week and were doing well. Alan Munson and sister Lynn Munson made a trip to Cedar City for building supplies to finish the remodeling of the dining room. It has been a ghost town here for several days while families went to Richfield to cheer and support the Bryce Valley Mustangs at the 1A State Basketball Tournament.
