Giving the award was member Allen Henrie, Panguitch. Every year the district recognizes those who have made a significant difference in the USSCD by promoting sound conservation practices and land stewardship. Upper Sevier Soil Conservation District Honors Members PANGUITCH The Upper Sevier Soil Conservation District recently held its annual Conservation Conserva-tion Cooperator-of-the-Year Award Meeting in Panguitch. This year the district recognized two cooperators whose efforts have enhanced the natural resource base in the district. Hatch Livestock Company was recognized for its conservation work and planning on the Hatch Ranch on MammothCreek. Hatch family members honored were Tom, Randy, Ron, and Paul Hatch who are all part of the Hatch Livestock Company. Also recognized by the USSCD was Kim Soper, employee at the Powell Ranger District, Dixie National Forest. Kim was awarded for his leadership and efforts in maintaining a successful prescribed fire program in the USSCD where he used prescribed fire as a land management tool to maintain healthy ranges, forests, and uplands. Every year the district recognizes recogni-zes those who have made a significant signi-ficant difference in the USSCD by promoting sound conservation practices prac-tices and land stewardship. |
