Show Charla Ricketts Honored LAS VEGAS, NV Charla Brindley Ricketts, formerly of Antimony, An-timony, received education honors from the Clark County School District Dis-trict in Las Vegas, Nev. as the Clark County School District, Alternative Al-ternative Education Division, Outstanding Out-standing Educator for 1999-2000. She was recognized as a member of their educational team who has been a model to others, demonstrated demon-strated a commitment to further the education of students who are at-risk at-risk and offered leadership in the field of alternative education. Ricketts was cited with going the extra mile to meet the individual individ-ual needs of her students. She is able to facilitate cooperation among teachers for the benefit of students by organizing school activities, student recognition programs, award ceremonies, school dances, yearly proms and other student activities. More importantly she was noted for a first rate job organizing and implementing Horizon East Learning Learn-ing Center. The Center provided day care services for infants and toddlers tod-dlers whose parents are pursuing excellence in the academics of child development and early childhood parental pa-rental training. As the veteran Horizon Project Learning Center Director she was commended for overseeing the Horizon Ho-rizon East program as well as dedication dedi-cation in helping to train other Center directors. Charla Ann Ricketts is a graduate gradu-ate of Southern Utah University in Cedar City and was hired to join the Clark County School District by the then superintendent of county schools, Carol Gates Sorenson, also formerly of Antimony. Ricketts Rick-etts is a daughter of Marcia Tobias-son Tobias-son and Charlie Brindley. |
