Show Cannonuillc -gujs By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Jim and Ann Leigh of Kansas City, Mo. visited AC and Rita Hammer several days last week. Ann is a sister to Rita. They spent their days together working on genealogy. ge-nealogy. The Cannonville LDS Chapel was once again filled to capacity for the homecoming of Elder David Shakespeare from the Kentucky, Frankfort Mission. Many friends and family attended to hear his fine report. Among them were his grandparents, George and Dorothy Rowley; Ray, Kathy and April Leydsman; Georgia Bettridge; Angie Lambeth and children; the Lyle Stuckers and children; Kathy and Krisette Shakespear; the Wayne Rowleys; Nick and Belinda Rowley; Jordan and Gay Lynn; the Todd Shakespeare family; the Jeff Shakespear family; Brook Shakespeare Shake-speare and Heidi Albrecht and many from the neighboring towns. After the service dinner was served to 35 members. Minok Dunham and Kay Dunham Dun-ham and two of Fran Barlow's children chil-dren spent a couple of days in Salt Lake City with Minok's daughter. It was good to break away and get that nice visit. Bob and Mira Loy Ott went to Bakersfield, Calif, to visit with children and grandchildren Stacy and Angie Ott and family and David and Carrie and their family. David is the Indian boy who lived with Bob and Mira Loy and went to school (See CANNONVILLE on page 3A) CANNONVILLE From Page 2-A here for a number of years. They reported a great time. Rosie Fletcher spent the holiday here with her mom, Marva Fletcher. Flet-cher. Talked to Dorothy Leavitt and she said she is feeling much better. She can walk around a bit now without her walker. She still has to go to Panguitch for therapy, but even enjoys that because she and Howard get to see their precious twin grandsons and the rest of the Wally and Kelly Lee family. The Cub Scouts held their Blue and Gold Banquet on Wednesday evening. Ada Thompson called from Las Vegas and said they have called her husband, George, to be music director direc-tor in their LDS ward there. The rain was really a blessing but we now are having colder weather, more like we expect for early March which is coming up right away. Alma Fletcher and his company are drilling a water well in Teasdale. Tom and Gay Shakespeare went to St. George on Friday. On Tuesday evening the LDS youth had a special activity to go around the town and collect articles to make up personal hygiene kits to be sent to needy people here in the states and overseas. They included tooth brushes, tooth paste, soap, deodorant, wash cloths, face towels, needles, thread, scissors, pins, buttons... but-tons... things that are always needed to get along in times of need and disaster. |
