Show Learn How to Take Advantage of Tax Breaks PANGUITCH -Al Whelan and Panguitch Main Street, Inc. will be at C-Stop on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004 for an informational information-al business luncheon from 12 noon to 1p.m. The luncheon will focus on how to take advantage of a sizeable federal tax credit for the restoration of historic buildings' listed on the National Registry. Also to be covered during the luncheon will be a brief update regarding upcoming upcom-ing projects and events from the city of Panguitch, Triple "C" Arena and Panguitch Main Street, Inc. Al Whelans' presentation on this historic tax credit is a follow up to Panguitch Main Street's first business luncheon in October which highlighted historical his-torical architect Kim Hyatt of Salt Lake City. Mr. Hyatt gave a presentation on the ins' and outs of historic renovation, focusing primarily on the downtown. Once a building owner has the desire to renovate his or her building within the guidelines of its architectural time period, the next step is to register that building build-ing on the National Registry of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. This process is typically very involved on the part of the building owner, however,- Panguitch Main Street is initiating the process of designating desig-nating the city of Panguitch as an historic district. With an historic his-toric district designation, any building within the boundaries of the district automatically qualifies to be listed on the National Registry. Only buildings that are within with-in an historic district are eligible to take advantage of a significant signifi-cant federal tax incentive for historic renovation. Therefore, registering Panguitch as an historic his-toric district benefits all of its historic buildings, whether they be commercial or residential. The goal of this luncheon is to provide access to information about preserving and restoring that which is Panguitch's most important asset: its historic beauty and architectural integrity-All business luncheons hosted host-ed by Panguitch Main Street, Inc. are open to the public. To attend, simply come at the designated des-ignated time and location. Lunch will be purchased individually indi-vidually by attendees.
