Show I ZcnrlGvilla 3ci"js By Wynona Henderson 679-8560 We are all happy to see the snow on Bryce Canyon and the Pink Mountain. We had more rain in the valleys. This week has been homecoming homecom-ing at Bryce Valley High School. The students have had fun dressing up each day. In the parade on Friday were lots of alumni on four-wheelers. four-wheelers. Ron Millett was the Grand Marshall. The week was topped off with a basketball game against Panguitch. We're glad to see John and Annie Barnett home now following Annie's recent surgery in St. George. Bob and Helen Willis went to Richfield to meet Alfred and Wanda Underwood. They celebrated Wanda's Wan-da's birthday. She is Helen's sister and the Underwoods live in Orem. They also visited Bob's sister Helen Zabriskie. Irving and Viola Rose were in St. George where Irving had cataract surgery. Their daughters, Peggy and Evon, helped get them back and forth to the doctors. Rhoda Shafer went back to West Valley City with Duane and Donna Metcalf for a visit. We congratulate all those who participated in the homecoming queen pageant. They all did a great job. Calvin Grundvig of Magna is here visiting with Jeff and Kim Johnson and doing some hunting. Steve and Kasidi Floyd are in Salt Lake City for Steve's graduation gradua-tion from POST. He will now be employed at the new Public Safety Facility in Panguitch. Ken and JoAnne Goulding were in Cedar City where they visited Kendall and Carolyn Hinton, Garth Heap and the Dallin Sawyer family. Steve and Kathy Goulding were in Koosharem one day on business. Lula Moore and Rae Smith went to Escalante with Gloria Hay-den Hay-den to attend funeral services for Fay Alvey. Fay wrote some very fun and interesting articles in the "Chit Chat" column news from Escalante for many years. Visiting with Ernie Henderson were Iletta Robbins and Dale Reynolds both of Orem and Glade Reynolds of Richfield. A scout Court of Honor was held where Cody Mortensen received his Life rank and two merit badges. Tyson Piatt received two merit badges; Wade Moore earned his Second Class and three merit badges; Kevin Clarke earned his Scout and two merit badges and (See HENRffiVILLE on page 6-A) HENRIEVTLLE From Page 3-A Joseph Rose his Scout badge. Congratulations to all these boys and their leaders. A successful Career Fair was held at the elementary school with several workshops taught. Sandy Johnson and Cliff and Collette Mathews all taught in their chosen fields, library, music and telephone technology. The Bryce Valley Lions still have birthday calendars. If you have not yet had the opportunity to get one, call Ernie Henderson at 679-8560. A successful Pinewood Derby was held with all the boys having lots of fun. Daniel and Sarah Rose were in charge. |
