Show I uscmtnu tmvs By Marlene Haws 826-4859 marlenehcolor-country.net Well, you can tell spring is here. Our young adults are starting to rodeo and their parents par-ents are following them around. On Apr. 11 Flint and Dace Chynoweth, sons of Link and Donna Chynoweth, took second in team roping in Tooele; the next day they took seventh place in Grantsville, same event. On Apr. 18 in Castledale, Clayton Carter and Chance Brooks took tenth place in team roping and Ashley Carter, in breakaway roping for her very first time, won $10 from her dad by catching catch-ing the calf! Clayton and Ashley are the son and daughter of Bart and Joy Carter. Chance is a son of Kay and Jody Brooks and Maria Goerdel. The Chynoweth boys took third place in team roping in Price on Apr. 19 and fifth place in Tremonton on Apr. 25 And they will all get better as the summer goes on! Our condolences to the Simpson family. Dorothy was a special person and fought a lohg, valiant fight with cancer. She will be sorely missed. Our condolences also to the family of Dave Barondeau. Dave has been an employee of the Forest Service in Escalante for the past 14 years. He will be missed by his family and peers. Deon and Arnold Alvey made another trip to Las Vegas, Nevada to be with their kids for Easter. Lane Liston is still trying to get back on his feet following the bout with blood clots. He is supposed to be able to start moving around more before long. You guys who think it is so dry around here should have been in my, or Klyn's or Stanley Stowe's, soggy shoes in the wee hours one day last week! For some reason I awoke at around 1 a.m. and could hear this sound, which I attributed to two or three things before I finally discovered dis-covered that the irrigation riser just feet from our house had broken. bro-ken. It looked like old faithful shooting in the air. While Klyn and Stanley worked on getting the water shut off I worked to keep more water from coming into our partly flooded basement. base-ment. I shudder to think that if I had slept through 'till morning we may have been trying to explain why our house was located on BLM ground at Calf Creek the next day! |
