Show PAtmnaum'js By Earl Roe 676-2376 wearlroeyahoo.com It looks like it is not going to be the second time that the trees do not bear leaves. I have noticed a few of the trees around town are starting to show green leaves and some blossoms. (And it's only the first of May!) Following their Golden Wedding celebration a couple of weeks ago, Bob and Juanita Smith set out on a three day drive through a goodly portion of our part of the good old USA. Following a first stop at Page, Ariz., they traveled on to Kayenta, Shiprock, Aztec, New Mexico to view the Aztec Ruins, Farmington, Durango, Colo., Mesa Verda National Monument, Cortez, the Four Corners Monument and then home. Bob said they really enjoyed this three day journey. (He didn't say whether or not it was a second honeymoon!) Maxine Crosby had her other twin son, Lynn, come to spend a few days visiting with mom and his brother, Layne. I am sure he found time to visit a lot of other friends and relatives here at home. Lynn and his family live in Billings, Mont. His wife and children could not come with him because of school. PANGUITCH CONNECTION; CONNEC-TION; During a telephone conversation con-versation with our son, Russell, concerning the up-coming blessing of his granddaughter, he told us that a member of his ward who serves in the Winter Quarters Temple at Omaha happened hap-pened to see the name "Becky Huntington-Panguitch, Utah" on the Temple register. Knowing that Russell is from Panguitch (Russell, like dad, lets everyone he meets know that he calls Panguitch home.) she (Nancy Marshall-no relation found Becky to see if she knew Russell Roe. Becky told her she did , but not as well as she knew his father who was one of her teachers. teach-ers. Becky wrote Russ a note which Nancy delivered and he was real pleased to hear from someone from Panguitch. Becky is the daughter of Ron and Karleta Riggs of Panguitch and is married to Barry Huntington, son of Stan and Valerie Huntington, formerly of Hatch but not living in Cedar City. Becky and Barry live in Vermillion, South Dakota where he is attending Law School and will graduate around May 9 or 10. He and Becky will then return to Panguitch where Barry will work for our attorney, Wallace Lee, while he prepares for his bar exam. After serving as our UPS man for 28 years, Stan is retireing so that he can make this trip. He and Valerie eventually plan on returning to Hatch. |
