Show Garkane Announces Election Results RICHFIELD - Members of Garkane Energy Cooperative have reelected three incumbents to the co-op's Board of Directors. Election results of the mail-in ballot were announced during Annual Membership Meeting sessions held in Orderville on Apr. 29 and in Loa on Apr. 30. Incumbent Directors Terry Griffiths, Orderville, and Randy Brown, Kanab, ran unopposed and will continue to represent Districts 5 and 7, respectively. In District 2, incumbent George Blackburn, Fremont, prevailed in a three-way race over challengers Russell Edwards, Lyman, and Kay Peterson, Loa. Blackburn received 163 votes, while Peterson garnered 153 votes and Edwards received 28 votes. Griffiths, Brown and Blackburn will each serve three year terms on Garkane's Board. As required by the cooperative's coopera-tive's bylaws, Garkane Board Members will elect Officers and representatives to Deseret Power (Garkane's wholesale power supplier) and the Utah Rural Electric Statewide organization at the first regular Board Meeting following the annual meeting. That meeting is scheduled sched-uled for Thursday, May 15 in Hatch. I |
