Show Panguitch Lions Club Makes Plans For Santa By Earl Roe PANGUITCH At the last meeting of the Panguitch Lions, Pat Oetting gave a quick report on the Sub for Santa project in the upcoming holiday season. This project is a cooperative effort involving churches, schools and civic clubs and over the years, (thanks to Pat's efforts), it has really grown. From what Oetting reported, the theme of this year's project could well be a spin-off off President Bush's education program, pro-gram, No Child Left Behind. Oetting's theme or goal will be No Child Will Do Without. The Lions voted to donate $500 to get the project rolling but much more is needed. Oetting said the group will be surprised at the help she gets from individuals in time, money and items donated. She believes Panguitch is a very generous community. Jo Purcell, Lions Club secretary, secre-tary, informed the club of a new business in town. Purcell has opened the Panguitch Quilt Shop which will, be located inside and to the rear of the Cobblestone Cottage business on Main street, that once was the Bryce Canyon Cafe. This name brings lots of fond memories to many senior citizens. Purcell would like friends in the community com-munity to let her know just what they would like to have available avail-able in her store. She would like to cater to their needs. |
