Show P.WGUITGi'l CJGl'JS By Earl Roe 676-2376 wearlroeyahoo.com Well it's over! We did our duty, cast our ballots, and we made some changes in Washington. It is going to be very interesting for the next two years to see what those changes bring about in our nation and the world. My feelings at this time are that it is nice to see things back to normal. No phone ringing ring-ing every few minutes with someone telling you not to forget for-get to vote, or why you should support a certain individual, or someone conducting a survey. My interesting experience for the week was to receive a mailing mail-ing from the Garfield County News and in it was a card sent to the News by Jim Crawford asking ask-ing them to say, "Hi" to me. Jim was subscribing to our newspaper newspa-per because a friend had given him a copy. You "old timers" will remember Jim as the editor of our paper many years ago. I will always remember him as "Dastrup Dinsmore," the part he played in Petticoat Fever, one of the plays our Jaycees did when we were raising funds for the sprinkling system for our cemetery. ceme-tery. "Hi, to you, Jim." Art Cooper is making a quick trip to Bakersfield, Calif., , to ordain his oldest grandson, Nick Standiford, to the office of elder in the LDS church. Nick is preparing to go on a mission. Art's children and grandchildren keep him on the road between California and Texas quite often. Dan and Karen Tebbs have received their LDS mission call to serve in San Bernardino, -Calif., area. They will enter the Adult Training Center on Jan. 3. They are both excited to be called to perform this duty for their church. Leland Pollock, new president presi-dent of the Bobcat Boosters organization, informed me that the boosters have started their annual activities by scheduling their annual Turkey Tourney on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the Thanksgiving weekend so all you former and wannabe basketball bas-ketball players, better start getting get-ting in shape. As the holiday season approaches, let's remember "The one who drives When he's been drinking Depends on you To do his thinking." Burma Shave |
