Show 1 Panguitch tkws By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 Birds are getting scarce in town. A very few pigeons have the streets to themselves with a big crow or two occasionally flapping overhead. There is almost al-most a carpet of migrating ducks on the northwest end of Panguitch Lake and a lot of the formerly yellow Quakies are already naked on the nearby hills. Tarmac is being installed around the elementary school but putting it around the main building build-ing and the temporary class rooms during school hours was a mistake as the students were cut off from the restrooms. That could be serious. se-rious. Gene Bagley died from injuries inju-ries suffered in an explosion in the sKop at the Forest Service complex on the hill west of town. Our deepest sympathy goes to his family. His funeral and burial were up north. Karen Swanger is his daughter here. Justin Mel Miller son of Melvin and Marlene Miller and Daisy Roose Christensen, daughter daugh-ter of Kelly and Libby Christensen, Christen-sen, were married on Sept. 19. A reception was held that evening in the 2nd and 3rd LDS Ward Chapel. Grandparents of the young couple here are Afton and Ilene Julander and Lyle and the late Barn Miller. Savalla Sandford is recuperating recuperat-ing from a broken hip at the local care center. After she goes home, she will be handy for therapy from our very good therapists. Mary Coon is in the hospital here with several problems. We appreciate our medical people and the fine facilities we have. Jaunita Talbot is home from her stay up north following son Tom Dobson's funeral. She spent time with Tom's family and with Larry Talbot's family. Larry brought her home and they went to Kanab to visit for a day with daughter and sister Linda. Margaret Frandsen is recovering recover-ing from surgery at home after several trips north for medical attention. She was at the home of son Lloyd Frandsen until she got so homesick she had to come back for a few days before returning return-ing for attention up there again. On Sept. 26, Andrea Hepworth and Alicia Black were baptized members of the LDS Church. |
