Show By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 Folks are getting their trees and bushes trimmed ready for sping growth. The magpies and mountain moun-tain blue birds are back in the valley val-ley and a meadow lark was heard singing down River Lane, but the snow storms keep coming. Doris Nichols is happy to have had her kids Mark and Betty Ann Johnson, along with grandkids Pam and Jesse Horn, and little son Gabriel Horn, visit her. They were here from Camp Verde, Ariz, for the blessing of Gabriel, who is the Johnson's first grandchild and Doris' first great-grandchild. Mark Johnson is the grandson of the late Howard Johnson, who lived at Bear Valley Junction. Doris said it was so exciting to have them with her and hopes that they can move closer. A roof is being built over the loading dock at the county school board office building. There is still quite a lot of work to be done on the building. The new Kelly Holman house is enclosed now and so is the new Jody Mosdell house. Barbara Heaton and Karran Harris Har-ris said that their trip to Japan with the string quartet group was wonderful. won-derful. They were treated like royalty roy-alty at the host homes where they stayed. The Japanese people were so friendly and outgoing. They couldn't do enough for their visitors. visi-tors. Brian and Heather Harris and Dan Harris were here to spend time with parents Dave and Karren Harris to hear about mom Karran's trip. Dan and Brian intended to get some fishing in, but the big snow storm stopped them. Wendy Swiger has daughter-in-law Mercedes Vela and two little kids here from Michigan with her for a while. We heard that James and Shar-main Shar-main Ciecalone are moving away because Sharmain's mother is ill and needs help. The lines are being painted on the new elementary gym floor. Hopefully, the building will be ready for the young students to use. The Panguitch High School track students are outside running now in between storms and cold wind. According to an ad in the News, we have a plumber and electrician in town. We don't know Dan Yard, but are sure folks here will become acquainted. Richard Talbot stopped in to see mom Mamie and catch up on family fam-ily news. He was on his way home from Orem from an archeology survey job in Dixie. Hugh Goulding is home from Las Vegas where he attended funeral services for his mother, Eileen Goulding, who was 83. He saw his brother and aunts and uncles, as well as other relatives and gathered family history before returning home to work on his spring projects proj-ects and get ready to go to California Califor-nia for his summer hobby, gold mining. Our sympathy goes out to Hugh for the loss of his mother. The bids on the new fire station were all at least 5 percent too high so the project will have to be refig-ured, refig-ured, advertised, a let out before work can start on the building. Oops! It was four-year-old Jan-sen Jan-sen Deuel, son of Val and Sherrie Deuel, of Cedar City, that had his kidney removed, not Dakota. Laine and Dorothy Norton of Brigham City came to spend time with daughter Joan Norton and foster fos-ter daughter Chrissy. Laine's sister. , was happy to see them, also. Henrie's Drive Inn is open for summer business. The other tourist tour-ist businesses should be opening ' soon. , Rerriember to check in your . closets and cedar chests for quilts for the quilt show in June. Volunteers Volun-teers will be needed to sit at the high school gym to oversee the show. Little Brianne Elizabeth Brem-ner Brem-ner was blessed by her father Brian Bremner on Mar. 29 in the LDS Fourth Ward. |
