Show County Republicans Set Friday Night Convention TROPIC Garfield County Republicans will hold their county convention Friday night, Apr. 10, at Bryce Valley High School. The event will kick off at. 6 p.m. with a potluck dinner for all county residents, Republican precinct officers and county and state delegates. Expected to attend are Incumbent Republican Senator Robert Bennett and his challenger in the Republican Primary, Hartly Anderson; and Incumbent Representative Chris Cannon and his challenger Jeremy Friedbaum. Elaine Baldwin, Panguitch, will conduct a workshop for precinct officers and delegates, covering duties and responsibilities responsi-bilities of precinct leaders. The state Republican Party is sending from Salt Lake City the state TARS (Teenage Republicans) Republi-cans) officers, headed by Scott Parker, state field representative. They will conduct a workshop for approximately 20 high school students who have signed up. The 30-minute workshop will cover ways in which teens can have input into local government and how their active participation now can make for better government in the future. Nomination and voting on county Republican candidates will follow. State candidates will next talk about their goals, followed by a report from the State Republican Party. The evening will end with an informal dessert social so that the delegates and voters can visit personally with visiting dignitaries. dignitar-ies.
