Show By Marlene Haws 826-4859 The Easter Bunny came to town and so did two or three hundred other visitors, many that I didn't know and neither would readers even if I named names. I am told the desert looked like a city alive with campers, picnickers and four wheelers, etc. At the home of Ben and Renee Porter were granddaughter, Jayna Porter, daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Jim Olsen, Provo and Charlotte and Norm Johnson, Orem. The J.R. Jacksons came from Quartzite, Ariz, to visit son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Marilyn Jackson and grandkids. Lois Houston, Murray, who is a daughter of Stan Liston and June Van Hemert, visited the Richard Wheeler family over Easter weekend. week-end. The Jon and Jillyn Sorensen family spent the weekend with Klyn and Marlene Haws. The family fam-ily of Brent and Patrice Cottam gathered with them to go Eastering and help celebrate Alan Sorensen's seventh birthday. The Sorensens live in Salina. Gene and Thais Griffin made it home from Mesa, Ariz, in time to hunt Easter eggs with the grand-kids. grand-kids. Whether they did or not, I don't know, but they were here in time. Al and Loni Barlow had cousins Peter and Kathy Fruhen here visiting visit-ing from Germany. Al took their son, Peter, to a boy scout activity where he had a great time. They all went to Bryce Canyon one day and Peter ended up being an interpreter for some German people who were having car trouble. They were really re-ally surprised when Peter spoke such fluent German, until he told them he was from there too ! A few days later the Barlows had their daughter and son-in-law Pam and Ken Thayer, Temecula, Calif. They brought their daughters Lindsay and Rachel for grandma and grandpa to spoil a little. Delia Christiansen is home, after spending most of the winter with daughter and son-in-law Charl and Clark Mecham in Las Vegas. The Mechams must have taken real good care of her, her health is much improved from what it was when she first went to stay with them. Pat and Bobbi Coughlin have moved back from St. George. Pat will be the new water boss this summer. After that he may be ready to go back to St. George. You don't call that retirement do you, Pat? Karen Ott brought her family from Tropic to have Easter dinner with the Doyle, Myron and Brent Cottam families. A few days earlier Doyle and Thelma had visited with Jim and Rose Caldwell in St. George. J.C. and Eva Haws, Brigham City, spent a few days opening up their summer home here and visiting with family and friends. Vernon and Peggy Roundy, Monroe, came to their home here to spend the Easter weekend and enjoy a little rest and relaxation and visit with relatives. Arnold and Alvey went to Las Vegas to attend Grandparents Days with Jessica Whitefield. Besides the Whitefields, they visited with Andy and Denise Dube and the Ronald Mechams. Vergean and Carolyn Porter had part of their family home. Son Clint Porter brought his kids but wife, Shanna was not about to come. She is attending school to become certified to work in the rest home in Cedar City. Virgeania (Porter) Davenport, Summit, brought her family and daughter, Melanie Gale, brought her in-laws, Dave and Madeline Gale of Cedar City. They braved the crowds and went to Spooky Gulch on the desert. Dusty Barnson is jazzin around town in a beautiful new pickup. |
