Show PHS Music Students To State Fest PANGUITCH On Wednesday, Wednes-day, Mar. 5 the Region 15 Solo & Ensemble Music Festival was held in Panguitch with several Bryce Valley and Panguitch students stu-dents participating. Two students, Laura Pierson and Brandon Hathcock qualified and will compete at the State Solo & Ensemble Festival April 26 in Provo and will be accompanied accompa-nied by Pam Robison. This is Brandon Hathcock's fourth year competing at the state level. Taking superior ratings at Region Re-gion were Leslie LeFevre on piano pi-ano from BVHS and Brandon Hathcock and Laura Pierson with vocal solos from PHS. Receiving superior-minus ratings rat-ings were Leslie LeFevre, with a flute solo and Denise Clark on piano, both from Bryce Valley. I Ellie Hughes received an excellent-plus for her piano solo, as did Tari Feltner, both from Bryce Valley. Jake Seiler, Bryce Valley Val-ley received an excellent-minus for his cornet solo. Also participating partici-pating from Bryce Valley was Jon Seiler on French horn and a flute quartet consisting of Tamra Moss, Kirsten Shakespear, Cherish Shakespeare and Ellie Hughes. From Panguitch High, Megan Redding received an excellent-plus excellent-plus rating for her vocal solo, Sara Marker an excellent for her vocal solo and Andrea Hathcock an excellent rating for her flute solo. Congratulations to all this year's music students who com-' peted. They are students of Music Mu-sic Director Paul Hathcock at Bryce Valley and Panguitch High Schools. |
