Show Miss Garfield County Asks For Help In New "Hero" Contest TROPIC In conjunction with the 1997 Miss Utah Pageant, Miss Garfield County April Johnson, will be participating in the "Hero of the Year" program, set for Mountain View Auditorium in Orem on June 19. Johnson has been asked by pageant organizers to nominate someone in her community as a hero, someone who has saved a life, risked his life to help another, someone who has had significnt impact on his community through public service, volunteerism, teaching, etc. Residents of Garfield County are asked to assist Johnson in making the choice by sending her suggestions of anyone whom they perceive as a "hero." The person ultimately chose as the "hero" will be introduced by Johnson and serve as her escort in a program held at University Mall in Orem. This person will also be introduced at the 1997 Miss Utah Pageant. The person must be able to attend both events and will be admitted free to the pageant. Johnson asks all county residents to please help by sending the name of someone they think might qualify in their area as a local hero. Nominations should be sent to: P.O.
