Show Count On Utah Reading Fete TROPIC Bryce Valley Elementary students participated in the "Count on Utah" reading contest con-test sponsored by school librarian Sandy Johnson. The contest started March 1 and because of the student's stu-dent's enthusiasm, it ended two weeks later. Grades 1 thru 6 were challenged to read 100 books to celebrate Utah's 100th birthday. The 2nd and 6th grade classes were successful in reaching that goal. Sixth grade students Jon and Jake Seiler and Preston Pederson were determined not to let the 2nd grade beat them. They spent the last night of the contest reading a total of 30 books. Ananda Morlock, also a sixth grader, succeeded suc-ceeded in reading 20 books in that same time. Librarian Johnson was "delighted "de-lighted to see more students taking an interest in reading." The contest proved to be a huge success. |
