The problem has been traced to an insulation material in the roof. The letter outlining the problem has been forwarded to Roy Silver, the school architect Judd expressed concern for the district's position on out-of-country trips by district students that could result in injury. He asked the board to either cancel the trips or assume liability for injuries. The board asked Judd to look into the possibility possi-bility of requiring complete liability liabili-ty coverage by each participating student Landscaping at both Panguitch and Escalante High Schools has come under scrutiny. While some equipment and material are available avail-able and on site, the board was reminded re-minded that the public was to have assumed responsibility for any landscaping done. Mandy White-Saras, part-time principalpart-time teacher at Escalante Es-calante Elementary School, was recommended for a change to a full-time full-time principal's position. Judd recommended rec-ommended that the position could be changed to include administrative administra-tive duties at Antimony Elementary, Elemen-tary, Boulder Elementary and Tica-boo Tica-boo School. The board said that they felt that budget restraints at this time did not warrant the change and that the move would not improve im-prove anything. Regarding administrators' salaries, Principal Myron Cottam of Escalante High School noted that six teachers make more money than he does. He asked the board to consider if it were worth the time and effort to become an administrator if teachers were making better salaries. School Board President Ray Englestead said he understood that there has not been a salary increase in three years and that an increase is desired, but this is not the year. |
