Show Bobettes To Leave Saturday For Nine-Day Japanese Performance Panguitch High School's Bo-bettes Bo-bettes will leave Saturday morning for their nine-day stint in Japan followed by four days of fun in Hawaii. The group performed Saturday at the Panguitch High School gym for Panguitch Homecoming Days. They will give two shows each day for two days at Future Watch Expo 88 in Gifu. The balance of their time in Japan will be spent sightseeing and include a tour of the Toyota factory and the largest fireworks display in the world. They will stay with host families, two to a family. Saturday's performance in Pan- guitch netted them $800, leaving them less than $3,000 short of their $20,000 goal to cover costs of the trip. Eighteen girls will take part, along with one alternate and three advisors. Some 35 people in all will make the trip, with family members and friends going along for the fun. The girls have two changes of costumes and will perform their prop and military routines for Japanese fans. They will leave Saturday morning morn-ing for the drive to Las Vegas to board their plane for the 17-hour flight to Japan. Bobettes making the trip are Kami Frandsen, Candie Orton, Kami Englestead, Camille Tebbs, Cherish Tebbs, Monica Miller, Annette Hatch, Lisa Henrie, Laurel Matthews, Kimberly Dalton, Can-dace Can-dace Swanger, Julie Ross, Amy Foy, Melissa Hatch, Tonya Judd, Ronda LeFevre, Emily LeFevre, Sheree Nowers and Tracy Clark. Advisors going will be Marlene Miller, Annette Hulet and Diane Johnson. The Bobettes will return on August Au-gust 13. |
