This mobile home took the brunt of a broadside gust of wind which toppled it. The fierce wind came up Saturday, June 4 and blew for Recent high winds in the Panguitch Pan-guitch and Panguitch Lake area caused significant damage and put a damper on some vacationing and fishing trips. The winds, beginning on Saturday and continuing into Tuesday, reached 60 miles per hour at the lake and one time on Saturday Satur-day 71 miles per hour through Marys vale Canyon. Local resident Craig Twitchell had moved a single-wide 60-foot mobile home to a site near Roller Mill Hill. The high winds blowing broadside onto the trailer turned the rig over and destroyed it. Beaver Dam Lodge at the north side of Panguitch Lake faced three to four-foot waves Saturday, and the owners beached their boats. They decided later to rope and chain their docks to keep them from disintegrating. dis-integrating. According to one report the Rustic Lodge boat house approximately one mile west around the curve from the Beaver Dam Lodge received severe damage when waves broke the docks loose and sent them crashing into the structure. Imperial Glass Company operator opera-tor Liz Beckwith in Panguitch said she replaced several windows broken bro-ken out of trailer doors that flew open in the wind and crashed into three days, causing campers to seek shelter, keeping fishermen off the lake and causing other damage and inconvenience to many.
