Show By Mamie Talbot The days are heavenly in the valley val-ley now. The grain is sprouting and the alfalfa is several inches tall. A small but thrilling experience at dusk is to come eyeball to eyeball with a miniature hummingbird, as a human and the tiny creature sniff the honeysuckle blossoms together. Buck and Shirley Bulkley went to Richmond, Calif, to the funeral of Buck's brother Don Bulkley. They returned by way of northern Utah and spent time with daughter Bonnie Williams. A large number of young people and their advisors went to Provo to attend Youth Conference at BYU. There has been a lot of sickness in town. Janis Henrie and LaVee Roundy have had surgery. Kay Hatch has been down with back problems. Emil Norton has been homebound for a month so has been unable to make his town inspection in-spection rounds. Sherrie Hatch is down on doctors orders. Her folks, the Darreld Nielsens, Henrieville and Jill and Maria Chidester are helping out with the family. Hope Goulding is also home-bound. home-bound. She had a number of family members here for the Memorial Day weekend. The Jim Gouldings, Cedar City, the Shon Gouldings with their new baby Candice, Las Vegas, Nev., the Joel Duttons, Fre-donia, Fre-donia, the Richard Paise family, Beaver, Aurelia Adair, Cedar City and the Russell Higbees, Las Vegas, Ve-gas, were all here. The Bobby Owenses visited their parents the Glen Owenses and Chuck Hepworths. Chuck and Lorene Hepworth spent a weekend up north and brought Jonathan Hepworth to visit for a week. The curb and gutter cement is being poured on Main street. Seems good to see above ground .work being done on the project. Most of the tall trees in town are in the process of being topped. After X; a lengthy power outage caused by falling trees on the lines, it's good : to see them trimmed. Vera Wilcock has been in the hospital so was unable to attend her husband Leonard's funeral. A large crowd of friends and relatives atten-, atten-, ded the services. Many came long distances. Our love and sympathy goes out to Vera and her family. Sara Worthen is a patient at the local hospital. Anna LeFevre, wife of George LeFevre, died in Spring Lake. The LeFevres lived in old Spry town before be-fore moving north some years ago. Lane and Gloria Sevy are home for the summer as are Morris and Weltha Orton. Armeda Farnsworth was here for a short while before returning to Dixie. Pauline Prince was called as chorister and Linda Owen as Spiritual Spiri-tual Living teacher in the LDS Third Ward. Baptized new members of the LDS church last week were Dusty Ralph Veater, Cody Levi Jacobson, Tarlton Wayne Lewis and Randy Leon Bridges. Jaunita Talbot spent a week in Price with her daughter Marvelene Colby and brought granddaughter Rachelle Colby back for a visit. The Doug and Christi Talbot family visited their folks for several days. The Talbots were in the process pro-cess of transferring from Alaska to Phoenix, Ariz., where Doug will continue his work with the Bureau of Land Management Loretta Linford had surgery on her shoulder in the Utah Valley hospital at Provo. She is improving improv-ing and hopes to be home soon. Sandy Hailstone has bought the Idella McEwen home. |
