Show Escalante Chat Lucille Cowles , district Young Career Women competition. Also attending were Avonell Tebbs, Marilyn Bulkley and Wenda Mae Tebbs. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sevy, Jolene Smith, Arlene Davenport and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Sevy of Santa Clara attended graduation exercises at BYU on Friday. Their daughter and sister Loraine Henry received her bachelor of arts degree in clothing and textiles. She will teach part time at BYU, She and her husband Richard and children live In Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Houston attended graduation exercises at BYU where their son Kelly Houston graduated with a degree in zoology. Kelly has been accpeted to veterinarian school at Fort Collins, Colorado. Kelly and his wife Maureen will live in Panguitch this summer, then start school in September. Gal Wilcock and Lucille Proctor attended a baby shower for Karie Raisanan at the fish hatchery in Hatch. Kathy Riggs, Nephl visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Riggs over the weekend. Kathy is the Home Extension agent for Juab County. Mr. and Mrs. Steele Henrie received word of the promotion of their son Vaughn Henrie to inspector at the Union City Treatment Plant in California. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Robison attended 'he graduation at BYU for their son-in-law Russell Muhlestian who graduated in mechanical engineering. His wife is the former Debra Robinson. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hansen has been Vivian Crosby of Boulder. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Allen, St. George stopped in at the home of their daughter and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Steven Marshall. They had been to Salt Lake City and were on their way home. Craig Tebbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Daniel Tebbs, Las Vegas, Nv. former residents of Panguitch graduated from BYU in electrical engineering. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Tebbs and the late Rula Houston. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Griffin visited family members in Richfield. Bev Kuhns had business in Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Griffin traveled to Richfield on business. On Saturday, they took a group to the St. George LDS Temple for baptisms. The senior citizens went to St. George to the LDS Temple and to Richfield. Ardis Chrlstensen and Merilyn Christensen took Thelrtw . Christensen to Garfield Memorial Hospital for tests. Eva Allen went to Salt Lake City to keep a medical appointment. Leon Cowles and son David visited the D.H. Cowles. They all traveled to Beaver so David could catch a bus for Provo to finalize his contract to teach English at Brigham Young University. The junior prom was held with the young men in tuxedos and the young women in formal evening gowns. They all attended a dinner at the Golden Loop with dates and parents In attendance. A rock and country dance recital was presented Friday under the directon of dance teachers Mary Johnson and Julie Nannegay. A reception was held for Mr. and Mrs. Gary Griffin at Escalante High School. |
