"Part of the reason for this significant increase is the public's renewed interest in preventing birth defects," said Tracy Dallison. "Over the past 26 years the March of Dimes has made considerable progress in eliminating or treating various kinds of birth defects. I sense that many people are interested in hastening the day when all children may be born whole and healthy." Monies raised from the Mothers March will be used in national research and local birth defects prevention programs. |
