Show Senior Citizens Donate To Center In slightly over two months, senior citizens of the Panguitch-Hatch area donated some 1,358 man-hours to completing the senior citizens center in the basement of the new courthouse addition. They completed all work with volunteer labor with the exception of electrical, plumbing and heating in the new facility. The basement work was begun on January 4 and completed March 20. Materials for the building of the basement were paid for with civil defense funds because the basement rooms will be used for civil defense in times of emergency. The same funds paid for a large 7 x 7 x 210 feet walk-in freezer and an extra dishwasher. Seniors will be purchasing an additional 10 tables, silverware and dishes to accommodate as many as 200 people per meal. The entire senior citizens section of the basement is about 25 by 65 feet. The new kitchen sports a large double oven gas range, two dishwashers, steam tables, microwave, garbage disposal, refrigerator and a new bread mixer. Faye Worthen, senior citizen coordinator for the Panguitch-Hatch area said the new facility is more convenient, safe and spacious than previous accommodations.
